The World’s Other Crises Are Still Running While the Deal Was Announced. Here’s the Status Check.

ONYX has tracked the arc’s secondary crises alongside the Iran war since August 7. Deal day does not end those crises. Today’s status check:

SUDAN

▸  Day 39+ of ONYX Sudan documentation: RSF drone strikes continuing; 25 million food-insecure civilians

▸  Five-institution Khartoum peace talks (September 13): AU, IGAD, Arab League, EU, UN convened; outcome from developing reporting

▸  RSF courthouse drone strike September 13: 13 dead; accountability unaddressed

▸  Sudan does not benefit from the Iran deal; its crisis is unrelated to the Hormuz framework

CONGO EBOLA

▸  Ebola vaccine exists; deployment remains inadequate

▸  The accountability sentence is unchanged from the arc’s first documentation: a vaccine exists; deployment is inadequate; the gap between what could stop the outbreak and what is stopping it remains the specific accountability that ONYX notes

NEPAL

▸  Karnali River dam through the monsoon season: dam stable as of last documented update

▸  Hydropower offline: repair ongoing; American accounting near-complete

COLOMBIA

▸  Day 51+ of reconstruction documentation: financing gap persists

▸  The deal’s oil price impact may affect Colombian oil revenues, which affect reconstruction financing; ONYX will track as confirmed

The Iran deal was announced. Sudan’s RSF is still killing people at courthouses. Congo’s Ebola vaccine is still not reaching everyone. Nepal’s hydropower is still offline. Colombia’s financing gap still exists. The deal resolves one crisis. The others continue on their own timelines.
